These past few weeks have been full of some new things for us... some big, some small. We'll call them accomplishments I guess...
First: I, Breezy, am learning to be a little housewife. Cooking and cleaning are becoming part of my daily routine... whether I like it or not. Small thing...feels like a big accomplishment. Baby steps, right?
Second: I have a smarty pants husband. Mat keeps getting all these things in the mail for his outstanding academic performance in school. He gets certificate after certificate and letter after letter... It's like they're rubbing it in my face. haha. Just kidding. I am VERY proud of Mat... He's been working way hard with work and school and is "excelling" in both. I even make him take hard upper division classes with me so I can do better... Selfish or Smart? Either way, its fun and also very beneficial for studying.
Third: This morning I registered for classes for the last time ever... (until grad school of course). But I get a weird satisfaction from discovering new "lasts" on a daily basis. They are starting to come more regularly... Its a nice push to help me make it through my last two semesters.
Fourth: This may sound dumb to a few of you, but as you all know, when I married Mat I got a package deal complete with one gentleman and two dogs. Now, it is very likely that these two dogs are the most obedient you have ever known... Mat has done an amazing job training them. But that's the thing... Since I entered the picture, I've had to work pretty hard to earn the respect from them like they give Mat. I believe I have recently reached that level. Those two hounds know I mean business and listen to me (almost) as well as they obey and listen to Mat. Probably sounds dumb... but to me its a very convenient accomplishment.
At last but not least, the big news of the year..... Mat is now an official member of the UVU Men's Volleyball team. Yes, that is correct...volleyball. How much experience does he have in volleyball you ask?? None. Never has he ever played volleyball in his life, and yet he randomly decides to try out... and makes it! Turns out his height and natural athleticism is a nice bonus to the team. The Men's Volleyball team is still just a club sport at UVU, but they are ranked nationally. UVU is very well known for their men's team. Its actually really cool. We're pretty excited for the season to start in a couple weeks and watch the success of the team.
So thats the exciting news for us... everyone else is having babies, but we're getting good grades, teaching dogs, learning to be a wife, and...playing volleyball I guess.

Real Salt Lake Game!
Last night was UVU night at the Real Salt Lake game so Mat and I went with one of my co-workers and her husband! It was so much fun! I've been to one game before, but it was when they still played and the U. The (sort of) new Rio Tinto stadium is quite the place. There really isn't a bad seat in the whole place. We all bundled up and prepared for a downpour, but other than being a little chilly the night was perfect!
I guess Real Salt Lake is not having their best season ever, but they managed to pull this one off! They beat the New York Red Bulls 2-0 (a team they've never beaten). It was a pretty exciting ending with a goal scored in in about the 80th minute, and then again at about the 90th! Our seats were perfect. We got to see both goals scored right in front of us.
I don't know how much longer the team will last in the play-offs, but if you get a chance you all should check out a game! It was way fun!

Scrapbooking at Last!
For the longest time I've been longing to scrapbook but have been way too busy with school and everything else. BUT... this past weekend, after taking a test in every single class, I had a weekend of no homework and decided to get some quality scrapbooking done.

Wolverines Knocks Off No. 17 Utah!
Okay I know this isn't directly related to Mat and I, but it really is. We both are currently working in the Athletic Department at UVU and are die hard fans of all the sports...especially volleyball. It's probably our favorite to watch! The game last night was nuts! University of Utah is/was ranked 17th in the nation and was expected to rise over the course of the season. They walked in thinking that UVU was going to hand them their victory... But not so!! Our girls came out and rocked them in 4 sets.
This was probably one of the biggest wins in the schools history. HUGE upset! It was so much fun to watch and so much fun to be a part of. If any of you guys are at all interested in athletics, you really should come out to some of the games. These girls are way fun to watch!

Jackson Browne!!
As many of you know... I have a list of 100 things to do before I die. And as some of you may not know... at the top of that list are two things that I have longed to do for quite some time. The first one was to see James Taylor live. That was accomplished last summer... Mat and I got to go with some of our friends to see him at USANA. Way good! A night I will never forget.
The other on the list was to see Jackson Browne in concert... and we fulfilled that last night! It was everything I'd hoped it would be! He did NOT play my favorite song... but it was still great! Good food... Good company... Good music... and funny drunk people dancing. Doesn't get any better than that. Plus I have a cute husband who will dance with me.
