I'm a Terrible blogger... Speed Update!

So now that I'm more than two months behind, I'm going to do a speed update....

The last thing this Blog knew is that Mat was going to Conference with the Track team. Well, not only did he go, but he took SECOND! AND beat his personal best yet again. What a stud! With his second place finish he scored 8 points for his team and contributed to their overall team victory. Both the Men's team and the Women's team won the overall meet! It was an awesome accomplishment for UVU and for Mat. He is very excited and motivated to do even better next season!

We had our 1 Year Anniversary! Crazy to think that it's already been a year. Since we're going on a trip in August, we decided just to hang around and do some fun things here. We went to breakfast in the morning, then went and got massages, then went to a movie at Jordan Commons.................then got food poisoning and spent the rest of the night puking at my Mom's house. Well at least I did. Mat's body must be more manly and resistant than mine. We ate the same exact things all day. It was totally crazy and miserable, but I came out alive. HAPPY ONE YEAR! It's been an amazing first year of marriage together! Here's a picture I took at some point of the night.. before the poisoning obviously, as you can tell by the smile on my face...

We went on a conoe adventure one random day... Mat found a guy who rents them for 20 bucks a day. So we threw the dogs in and headed out for a day of fun. We were unsuccessful in the fish department, but had a good time anyway...

We decided to hit the Lehi Round-Up Rodeo this year! It was just as great as always. Good hamburgers, good company, and good entertainment. There is something about a rodeo that brings back the joys of my childhood.
We "celebrated" a funeral (over the hill birthday party) for Mat's older brother Roger. He turned 40 and his cute wife, Amber, threw him such a loving pretend funeral. It was hilarious really. We all wore black, Amber gave a eulogy, and all the kids got up and shared memories and things they loved about their Dad. It was a lot of fun and something we'll laugh about for a while. She had this giant picture of him displayed too... the best part is that everyone was laughing about when this picture was taken... we all thought it was 20 years ago. But it was less that a year. He was 39... We had a fun little birthday party for Mom complete with a full Thanksgiving dinner made by Janae. Mom said she like "Thanksgivingish type food" and Janae went all out. We did presents and had pie and chatted and had a good time. We sure love mom and are happy she is such a big part of our lives! And so is Ainslie... because it's one more opportunity for her to open someone elses presents. :)
Dayton is already beating on his cousin...
...and then trying to act innocent

The 4th of July party was just as fun as always! We had a delicious BBQ courtesy of Steve and Jan and enjoyed the additional company of Kristi (Morgan's fiance) and some of her family. We of course played some intense rounds of "Just Dance" on the Wii and finished the night out with the usual Thanksgiving Point fireworks in some unusually cold and windy weather. But at least this year we avoided the sprinkler grab and race...

On the 5th we had a fun bridal shower for Kristi. Jan and Britt went above and beyond and totally outdid themselves.. and most others for that matter. The decorations and goodies were crazy and we had tons of family and friends show up! It made for a great time and Kristi and Morg got some good loot. While all the girls were showering Kristi, the boys headed off to a Bee's game. They had hot dogs and ice cream and enjoyed themselves just as much as we all did. After all the fun was had, we decided to extend the fun a couple more hours and stay up all night watching The Bachelorette that Jan recorded. It was so much fun... A bunch of girls together to trash talk and swoon over all the guys. haha.

Mat's been like a crazy Einstein this summer. He's taking two of the hardest classes and cruising through them. He finished up Calculus a few weeks ago and is now tackling Statistics. He is so naturally intelligent that it drives me crazy. I struggled and studied my butt off through both of those classes and he's pulling test scores in the 90's with minimal study time. Oh well.. I'm glad he's doing well and busting through it all. We all know thats not an easy thing. Especially at his old age. :)

Mat, Steve, and Spence have a new hobby.....carp. You know, the sick, nasty, slime sucking, sucker fish that most people just feed popcorn to. The three guys found new interest and a new hobby in them. The hobby began with a pole and some bait... then they added a boat... then they added some spears... then they added a bow and got some success. It's totally disgusting but they have a good time. I think it's more like a challenge for them.. they must out smart and conquer the carp. Way to reach for the stars boys. Just kidding. I'm glad they are having some fun. I know Mat sure is.

Our niece Erica got married this past weekend. We had Daley's come from far and wide to be here for it. All but one brother were able to make it. It was so great. I got to meet a brother and sister-in-law for the first time finally and met some nieces and nephews as well. It's weird having family that didn't really exist to me for like a whole year. Now I only have one brother to meet and I will have met them all. It's so much fun having everyone get together. It's enough fun just to watch the ten brothers all interact and laugh and beat on each other. Not to mention the forty some odd nieces and nephews running around everywhere and trying to pick fights with "Uncle Mathew". I couldn't ask for better sister-in-laws either... this week was so fun to sit and talk and get to know all of them even better. I love how different the Chandler and Daley family functions are. It makes for a good variety of life. :) I'm even more excited for all the Daley's to come back into town in a few weeks for Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary!

I think that pretty much catches everyone up on life to this point... we have some more exciting adventures coming up before the end of the summer and I will try to stay caught up from here on out... because I know everyone is dying to know exactly what is going on in the life of Mat and Breezy.
